這是黑人女歌手羅貝卡佛萊克” Roberta Flack”在1969年錄製演唱的一首歌。那是50年代著名的民歌手伊旺麥寇爾”Ewan MacColl”在1962年寫給他的妻子的一首情歌。
或許大家對Roberta Flack或是Ewan MacColl都不太熟悉，不過大家應該都聽說過7、80年代的電影巨星克林伊斯威特。雖然他老大硬漢的印象深植人心，但是他不忘情於執導，包括近年較為著稱的”殺無赦”和早期的”迷霧追魂”。 The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face就是”迷霧追魂”這部電影的插曲。當然，大部分的人沒看過也不知道”迷霧追魂”這部電影當年有多紅，
雖然這是一首情歌，但前段歌詞和歌手緩緩唱出的深沉旋律，卻是那一刻心中迴盪的旋律。
